However, I still encounter a problem with the USB stick not being able to boot. It is just for fun and for the sake of portability. I've been reading multiple pages on how you can install Ubuntu on an HDD or USB flash station and I am aware that a full install will shorten the life span of the USB stick quite a lot, but that is okay. I've been messing around with a live USB for a couple of days, but what I ultimately want(ed) is a full install of Ubuntu 16.04 LTS on my USB stick (32 GB 3.0 SanDisk Ultra). Hello all!
